    Low cost practice reload

    Most people around here are really interested in the hair splitting precision of the 6.5G. And I am too, but I'm also interested in a low-cost practice load for 3-gun, ect, where the ranges are pretty short.

    My current plan is:
    Fire form 7.62x39 brass I traded for
    Federal primers
    CFE (because I have some stock right now)
    What about the bullet?

    Amaxes cost a little more than I'd like. So do the MK's, Noslers, ect. If I could get a 25 cent load, that would be great. Any ideas?

    I think the Nosler custom comps 123g can be found for $65/250 if you look hard and every day. This would make for an affordable and accurate round.

      Check Graff's for PRVI 120 grain bullets .They work real good and are very accurate in my 6.5 Swede.

            If you ever get the chance to make it to Sedalia MO, you can by Sierra blemished bullets by the pound at the factory.

              Also watch shootersproshop.com for 6.5 blems. Good bullets can be had pretty inexpensive from time to time. Nosler sells there factory blems there.

                  Neat. I grew up nearby and had no idea there was a factory there.

                    Has not happend in a while but shooterproshop.com sells the nosler blems and overruns last time I got them I think I paid $14/100 for 123cc over runs

                    Getting down to .25 a shot will be a feat though
                    Primer= 0.04
                    Powder= 0.12
                    Getting a jacketed bullet for under a dime.....that will be a little tough even a cast bullet with a gas check will run you about 0.05 assuming you have the mold and sizer already $100 for a mold and sizer then you have to deal with exposed lead in a gas gun...

                    I you shop around you should be able to get .35 a shot but that probably the best you will do....
                    Punctuation is for the weak....
