100GR Nosler BT in a MGM Contender barrel

Looking for some information on powder choices that have been utilized for accuracy along with speed. The bullet that I would like to use is the100gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. The barrel that I have is an MGM with a 1 in 9 twist. The length of the barrel is 21.5 inches. I have broke the barrel in and will be looking to develop a good whitetail hunting load. I have been using H335 during my break-in period. No real sure if this is a good powder choice for the 100 grain bullet. Temperature ( hot) seems to change the consistency of this powder at least that is what my chronograph displays. Any info provided would be appreciated. THX Twitch24

8208 would be similar in burn rate to H335, but it's extruded and more temp stable.

H322 and Benchmark might also be worth a try with 100gr bullets.

Would H4895 work with the 100 gr Nosler BT? I did a test yesterday and i can easily get 31.7 grains and still have room to seat the bullet. The load would be mildly compressed. Any experience or results would be appreciated. I really like this powder. Twitch24

Do you already have the 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbooks?

Alexander Arms has data for it for the 123gr SMK and 140gr Lapua Naturalis. Those are listed on pages 41 and 42 of Volume I. Nothing for 100gr NBT. I personally like 8208XBR for the 100gr NBT. You can have lower pressures, with some of the faster velocities for the 100gr pills.

Both Volumes I and II have a lot of data for 8208XBR and the 100gr NBT. I'm interested to see what you get with a TC. Keep us updated for sure.

29.0g of XBR behind that bullet is one of my most accurate loads, and according to Hodgdon's site it's the starting load with a max of 30.8C.
