Then it shouldn't be that hard to get a 15-20k order lined up (I'd think).

Just two guys get you 5% of a 20k order right there already.LOL
Now you'd just need some more folks. Emails are fine, but cash talks louder every time.Life member NRA, SAF, GOA, WVSRPA (and VFW). Also member WVCDL. Join NOW!!!!!

So I sent the idea to one of Barnes R&D folks, asking about the prospects of getting a Barnes hunting bullet specifically made for the Grendel. What I was thinking was basing it off the 6.5mm 127gr LRX (BC of .468), re-profiling the nose to a more secant ogive, while keeping the tangent ogive from the bearing surface,
And, better figure on some people dropping out, for various reasons.

That's 1/6th of the last 1 year 9000 attempt from only three people, and in only a day...
ETA: If folks could chip in for 500 round batches (instead of smaller bundles) it'd go much faster, and have a lot better odds of going through....Last edited by Variable; 09-20-2014, 05:59 AM.Life member NRA, SAF, GOA, WVSRPA (and VFW). Also member WVCDL. Join NOW!!!!!

12.5% in rapid order.
Nice even batches of 500 will/would also make it far kinder for the poor soul who ends up mailing all the flat rate boxes.Life member NRA, SAF, GOA, WVSRPA (and VFW). Also member WVCDL. Join NOW!!!!!

I'll do 500 assuming a reasonable price. I know this is wishful thinking, but if we can get them under $25 per 100 and a BC greater than 0.400, I'll take 1000.
What OAL were you thinking? I'd think we 1.20" would be optimal, maybe up to 1.25" from additional boat tail. Maybe even make the proposal 105gr +- 5gr to give more room to optimize the BC."Those who sacrifice liberty for security, deserve neither." Benjamin Franklin

See the attached PDF in post #1. Nose is 0.725" (18.4mm) + bearing surface or shank of 0.350" + boat tail of 0.200" (or short boat tail of 0.100") = 1.275" long or 1.175" short.:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets
