    Reloading Dies

Just curious as to what type of reloading dies everyone is using and pros and cons. I've only been using RCBS and Lee dies.

Redding have been working for me thus far. Thinking about getting a set of Forsters. Use them for .338 loads and they have worked great.

I use Hornady New Dimension reloading dies. I also have a Forster micrometer seating die that I can use on .260 Rem & 6.5 Grendel.

I think it also is a good rule of thumb to make sure your shell holder specs out properly with the dies you use, so you can get the correct amount of shoulder set back, otherwise you will be SOL. We addressed this in Volume II of the 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbooks, in the Reloading Guidelines Chapter, pages 58-71.

Ditto on Hornady New Dimension dies, but with a Hornady microjust seating stem mounted in the die above a Hornady Custom 6.5 A-max seating stem (it's much deeper than the stem which ships with the die, so the inside of the seating stem does not contact the tip of the bullet). I have mostly Hornady dies for my various calibers, so I don't know how the seating stems are in other brands of dies, but Hornady seating dies require their specialized seating stems for their Amax and FTX bullets to avoid tip deformation. The "AMAX" stem should likewise be used in the Hornady seating die with any other VLD-type bullets.
My "6.5" = 24" AA Overwatch upper 1/9 twist, NC based US Tactical lower, standard A4 6 position stock, AR Gold Trigger, JPS SCS buffer, Vortex 6-24 x 50 FFP PST with EBR-2C MOA reticle

Can you go into a little further detail. Are you using a 260 bullet seater on the grendel? Would a Micrometer grendel die work for 260?

I'm guessing it would.. never considered this but it would be great to use this expensive die on two different cartridges.

Seating dies are not cartridge specific, but caliber specific. Since the .260 and 6.5 Grendel (and all other "6.5" cartridges - 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 x 47 Lapua, etc.) are .264, it should work on all of them.

I use LEE. Mainly because they come in a 3 die set with the shell holder for about 35 dollars. They have never failed me.

Lee . I have never had a problem with any of there die sets . I have 9mm , .233 , 300BLK , 6.5 Grendel and .270 Win . My buddy uses the high dollar brand and my bullets shoot tighter groups than his .

I use Redding Type S Match Bushing dies for my Grendel and have been very satisfied thus far. I like the ability to control neck tension.
