Yeah - I hear you. One of my ARs has the Timney 3.5#, which used to be my favorite. Since installing the SSA-E in another, I now see the Timney as merely "ok". I really want to change out the rest, but don't have unlimited $$.

I'm running a Geissele SSA-E and love it. First stage is smooth and light, the second stage breaks very clean and predictable.

I have one with a JP 4.0lb spring on a beater .223, better than most stock triggers but not great. Slight bit of creep and a little mushy, about 4.5lb on my Lyman trigger pull gauge. Geissele SSA and SSA-E's will spoil you.

This is my "standard" trigger for most of my rifles. Have a JP and Geissele on my "best" ARs.

Update for my mini review of my velocity trigger. It feels exactly like the timney 3lb trigger. There's a tiny bit of creep but most probably wouldn't notice it. Reset is nice and short. I would buy another one

CMC, 3.5 curved , & a Bill Springfield setup- 3,5lb. one for each Grrr lower. Plus a Bill Springfield set at 2.5 lbs.. Didn't work out Semi auto- not trusted. Total of 3 lowers here for now. 5 more lowers enroute- 1 is a gift .

The AA chromed unit looks great also ! Clean break is the goal.
