    What buffer do you use?

I am hunting for the best buffer for a 16" barrelled Grendel.

I was told that a H2 would work best. What do you all say?

My thought was that the Grendel is a much stronger round than the 5.56 and could use the H2 buffer to cushion the blow of a round. Maybe knock down some of the recoil for a better second shot when needed.

I would also think it would be less abusive on the rifle than the standard buffer.

Thank you for any information that you can offer.
May each day bring you at least one pleasure.

H2 is what I use with Lilja midlength gas, 16" bbl. ALG gas block, non adjustable.

Depends on gas system length, port diameter, and the load.

For 16" and 18" MLGS with .078" and .076" ports, I personally have had nothing but great results with H2 buffers in a carbine set-up. I shoot mostly 123gr, but started out shooting 100gr NBT as well, with never a malfunction.

Even my really light starting loads when I first put rounds down the pipe before it was even SAAMI cycled the action fine.

I do like the JP SCS though, which I put in my Lilja barreled Grendel.

On my 18" mid length gas system with an adjustable carbine stock, I have an H2 buffer. My 20" with a PRS uses a standard rifle buffer. Neither uses an adjustable gas block. No issues on either. I had a Spikes ST-T2 for a while and it worked just fine as well.
