Hey guys, Ive been out for a while with the busy work season. Now that it is over I am looking to build a new grendel and have had my eye on the Ranier Arms ultra match barrel for a while. There have been a few threads in the past about this barrel but no one sharing any actual experience. Does anyone have one of these and have any results to share as far as quality and accuracy? I may have to be the test mule for it. The other option I am looking at is having BHW make me a 22" tube just because I love the barrel I already have from them but what a heavier profile and longer barrel but I really want a true Grendel chamber this time out.

I copied this off Rainier's site. There is no specific information about a head spaced bolt but Rainier sell JP 6.5 Grendel enhanced bolt. The Rainier barrel is pricey even if it is a Shilen blank which Rainier machines to their spec.

The best thing to do when shopping for a barrel and wanting the sammi chamber.
Is to look at their specs and if they don't list it as sammi spec chamber it is not a true grendel barrel chambered to sammi specs like Bill designed.
Hope this helps, if you want a sammi chamber buy one listed as sammi chambered.

I'm just using the bolt as an example but it could be any of the issues posted here with regard to any of the non-saami chambers.
It also chaps me when vendors say it's a Grendel chamber but when factory rounds won't chamber they finally admit that they used a different reamer. Example what satern did with the liberty group buy barrels.Last edited by rabiddawg; 10-17-2016, 09:16 PM.Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.
