    Adjustable gas block or not?

I did a search and did not really find what I was looking for. Currently ordering the last few parts to finish this build.

Barrel is the 16" lite from Alexander Arms. Do I need an adjustable gas block or will a standard gas block work just fine? I have been looking at the Superlative adjustable but I have a standard gas block on hand so it would save a bit just using it.

What does the horde have to say?

Not. Especially if you already have one on hand

    Non adj should work fine.

Adjustable is probably not necessary, but if you really want to try one, these are a cheap option to give it a go:

I use a Parallax Tactical adjustable block on my Faxon Pencil barrel and have had zero issues (but they're out of stock right now):

If you already have a gas block then use it. If you decide later to add an adjustable cause your getting a suppressor or to just dial down the gas then you can add it later.

          +1

I've kinda been wondering who makes the best adj. Gas block? My biggest concern would be gas errosion on the limiting mechanism. If I'm not mistaken SA uses a inconnel adjustment screw which should be fine. 30 positions seems like a decent amount of adj. They just seemed a little floppy when i was groping them at the NWSSE here in Tacoma last September. All in all though i gotta say if i designed my own products they would probably look almost identical and the owner and his dad seem like VERY good people.

I think I'm going to try a slr titanium one next. I've read good reviews but they are pricey.

I have an SLR adjustable block on my Grendel. They certainly are not necessary, especially if you will not be reloading. If you are reloading then they are handy to adjust the timing on your rifle for hot loads.

I've built a lot of uppers with the AA Lite 16" MLGS barrels. They are gassed perfectly from the start, very pleasant to shoot.

The only time I would consider an adjustable block with that barrel is if you are going to suppress.
