5th Range trip with 18" GrendelHunter

Despite the high humidity it was a lil cooler this morning so I figured I would get out and shoot.......
I was able to get some more Bulk Hornady American Gunner ammo thru it as well as a few of my first attempts at 6.5G hand loads.

I am more and more impressed with this cheaper bulk ammo each time I shoot it.
Velocity 2432 FPS with a SD of 12.2 in 30 round string.

Then I went out to 200 yards to confirm my Zero.
I was 2.3" inches high at 100 and seems to be dead on at point of aim for 200 yards.

I was able to run some 90gr Speer TNT hand loads with Ramshot X-Terminator powder thru it.
    CCI 450 SR Mag.
    2.200" COL
It seemed the higher the charger the more the groups opened but, none were too terrible IMO.
My velocities didn't quite progress as I would of thought though....

    90gr TNT with 28.4 gr X-Term = Velocity- 2550 FPS with SD of 18.9

90gr TNT with 28.7 gr X-Term= Velocity- 2600 FPS with SD of 8.2

    90gr TNT with 29.0 gr X-term= 2605 FPS with SD of 9.2

'71, can you try some H335 for the TNT's? I'm doing 2680 (16") and 2830 (20"), with it, around 31.2, work up to what your barrel can do, but seems like you could get some more zip w/ the 335. XBR did similarly but I don't have that load, been using 335 for the most part.

      But +1 for the 123AG!!

I don't own any H335.... just trying what I have and use alot of with other loads (yea I know sometimes not the best option).
I am going to move my COL in a tad and try some heavier charges, as the Xterm had no pressure signs what so ever.
I do have CFE223, Shooters Rifle Match, and 8208XBR as well to try out.

I'm more and more frustrated I didn't go with 18" now... My 16" is only getting me 2300 with the gunner... :-(

                Grendels tend to multiply.

I am glad I did not go any shorter myself.....
Sometimes I think I should of even went 20" though.

I do think I am gonna build a 22 or 24 inch bolt action Grendel though.... no need to go Creedmoor and have to get another die set or extras.
