    gas bloc hack

When attaching your gas block...grab a couple of feet of 1/4 inch id plastic tube to go over the gas tube in your upper...if you smoke, blow some smoke in the tube..if the smoke comes out the barrell, you've got the gas bloc set correctly...if you don't, grab someone who does... Works well...

Wotejk makes a gas block that has a top screw you can remove and look down into the block and line up the gas port.

They now have a hole there and I use a drill bit, put down thru the gas hole, to aline and then tighten the 3 clamp screws, easy as pie

Or just drill a hole through a regular gas block.

These work great. But slightly modified toothpics are cheaper....

That's a pretty good idea with the toothpick.

Another member suggested spaghetti. That sounded good too, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Great shape to the gas block/design, but their adjustment screws are GARBAGE.

I haven't had the first bit if problems out of mine. Sure it wasn't user failure?

I?ve never seen the pin alignment tool or heard of using toothpicks or spaghetti. Both are great ideas. I?ve always just used a sharpie to draw a line from my gas port past my gas block on both sides. Then I just make sure my gas tube is in line with the sharpie line.

                      I've used a bore scope.

Just plug the chamber end with one of the foam ear plugs, slip the gas block with tube attached and move the gas block while blowing air through the muzzle and set where you can feel the minimum resistance in air coming out the gas tube and tighten her up.

Drill dimples aligned with the gas port and then cross drill and pin the block if you so desire. No cancer necessary.
