Handguard length for future 12 GB

Anybody running a 12" hand guard on a 12" barrel? The reason I ask is because I haven't seen whether the SixFive GB barrels are actually 12" or something else.

I would like to use an Aero quantum guard on the 65 GB barrel because I like the looks, features, and price, but the only size options in that offering is 9" and 12". I would like it to be as close as possible. Currently in acquisition phase as things become available but am planning on running a Rearden SPB brake and 8"ish suppressor with plan B mounts. If 12" is going to cover up too much, I guess I'll have to go with the 9" option or find a different hand guard.

    Thanks

I use a 12" and a 9". My 12" is a midwest industries suppressor compatible which is actually 12.625" so my suppressor sits inside the handguard over an inch. I would not shoot it with a break on and not the suppressor because it would blow the handguard apart. My 9" handguard leaves a couple inches between the end of handguard and beginning of suppressor.

Thanks for the info, pics, and alternatives (I like the 10? A.C.E. one).

How mush space is needed between then hand guard and can? I am purchasing materials to make a 1.625" can and see that the quantum has a 1.78" inside diameter that mentions it's good for most 1.5" cans. I am assuming it would also be good for 1.625" as well but didn't mention it because it's not as prevalent.

Do you want to ever shoot it without a suppressor, if yes get a shorter rail. "I am purchasing materials to make a 1.625" can and see that the quantum has a 1.78" inside diameter" the can may end up making contact with the rail while shooting as that is a pretty close fit.

Would it really? Last weekend I shot my 12" Grendel with Thunder Beast brake using an H or X style rest bag that's ~12" long...it reached within ~1/2" of the end of the muzzle device. I was worried that the muzzle blast would shred my bag, especially since it's taped shut due to a fried shooting through it. The bag survived. To be clear, I was shooting subsonic so that will make a difference. It just seems that if my shooting rest bag can survive subsonic blast, the an aluminum handguard would survive
Supersonic blast of a 6.5 Grendel.

Does anyone have video of this actually happening?
