BCM Blem Upper Receiver Is In Stock

Agreed. BCM blems are all I use these days. I've used Aero receivers in the past, and I'd still take a blem BCM over a new Aero any day of the week. My rifles will get beat to hell when I use them anyway, so I'll gladly take a discount to have someone else get that first scratch out of the way for me. I've used a half dozen of these and the "blems" are often difficult to find - usually minor discoloration of the anodizing or tiny scratches from shipping/handling.

Agreed that the "blemish" can be something very hard to find. I bought one or two of these blems for that price a few months back. One had a small scratch on the top, near where the charging handle slides in. Big woop. The other, I couldn't find anything odd about it.

Thermofit on bcm is dependent on the barrel extension for sure. I have a Ballistic Advantage barrel on a bcm upper, and though it was tight it did not require Thermofit. It was sufficiently tight enough that it required some effort (not much) to fit and bedding the barrel I see as unnecessary on this upper. I did square the face, which essentially was just leveling out the anodizing on my particular upper from my observation.
On the other hand I have multiple aero uppers, and every one I've bedded the barrel into.
Given the aero costs more, and requires more "work" to fall within my own personal requirements I see the bcm as the superior value and product in comparison. I still haven't found the "blem" on the 3 bcm uppers i have built.Last edited by Zeneffect; 07-03-2021, 06:13 PM.

I felt, still feel, both the product and prices were not only fair but Great but in this era of product availability or lack of I personally feel BCM is using that to off load a less than prefect product for a price, that in any other market setting, they would not be asking. To see a jump from 49/69 to 99 when other Co. are holding their pricing I'll spend my money elsewhere. Two of the 3 were a great fit and could Not find the Blem while the 3rd has several shades to it's finish and a few scratches it was also not as tight as the first two but still okay and cost the most at $69.00 if I remember correctly. The other 2 were $49.99, I believe. Also it was bought within this last year!

Supply, demand and communist in government can make a difference...I saw an old Olympic parts gun painted with Krylon sell for $1000 after the Newtown shooting, where every modern porting rifle was sold out of every retail store in Missoula Mt.
Considering Anderson stripped uppers are going for $83.49, stripped Aero's are going for $114.99, and stripped BMC thermol fit uppers are going for $119 when available, their blems are about right for this market...
I'm leery of buying anything in this market, since QC always drops when demand rises...

BTW just bought, 2 months ago, an Anderson "slick" upper on sale for $39.00 that is just as tight as any of the BCM uppers I have, call it luck or whatever but there it is.
I agree in these times quality is the first thing out the door "buyer beware!""Wild flower, growin' thru the cracks in the street" - Problem Child by Little Big Town

I have never seen ammo prices jump as much as they have in the past year and I refuse to purchase practice 9mm or 5.56 ammo at the current prices . All material prices have gone nuts in construction and companies are taking advantage of this for sure. There are many jobs in my area on hold for lack of product and all are paying a premium when available.
I guess it all depends on how bad a person wants or needs a product.. I fear prices will continue to be high until the demand lessons..Last edited by montana; 07-04-2021, 06:25 PM.

[I wonder if they scratch them on purpose to make people feel like they're getting a good deal.
