    And finally I have my first grendel....

    * KP-15 WWSD-mod lower.
    * KEArms KP-15 LPK, 45/90 ambi selector (setup for 45 and left handed)
    * KEArms TiN milispec trigger. (temporary until I decide what trigger I want)
    * PDQ lever (mostly for completeness sake; the standard AR bolt catch is set up fine for left handed use)
    * Aero Precision NFA upper, UPK
    * Proof Research 20" 6.5 Grendel barrel
    * Faxon 17" CF handguard
    * Titanium .875" gas block, brand forgotten
    * V7 Titanium micro brake
    * JP 6.5G Enhanced bolt and carrier
    * Leupold Mark AR 30mm scope mount
    * Primary Arms 4-14x44FFP, ACSS-R-GRID 2B reticle (until I can save up for a really nice optic)

    7lbs 13.5 oz with optic.

    Took it to a local indoor range today for a basic function check and to make sure the optic was at least vaguely on paper. It feels very nice in the hand.

    Very nice! I understand the KP-15 lower, CF handguard and Proof barrel, but I'm still surprised at the low weight. Well done.

      I got the barrel "lightly used" in march of last year. Been slowly acquiring parts since.

                    I just got my first 6.5 Grendel complete upper yesterday. It has an M4 profile barrel. I borrowed a complete lower and a Scope, Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8, from another carbine so I could take it to the range today. I fired 1 shot at 100 and I was on the edge of the target. I dialed some windage and shot two 3 shot groups, both 7/8" with Nosler factory 120 grain BT ammo. I said all that to ask, do I need to get a scope configured like yours to wring out the 6.5 Grendel. I have acess to a 1000 yard bench rest range.

                      Very nice build. I have a 20" Proof barrel too. All SS though, and I love it. You beat me on weight...mine is just over 10 lbs...and I think your CF handguard and barrel and no bipod is the difference.

                          Understood. The 1-8 scope is just a place holder concerning 1000 yards. What is your idea of a scope for a 16" 6.5 Grendel for all around shoooting out to 1000 yards? Weight and cost, not much more than $500, are prime considerations. I will not be shooting competition. I can get by without illumination and zero stop. I am thinking a 4-14 x 44 or 4-16 x 44. I am also at about 450' ASL. I want a reticle similar to the NF SHV MOAR.
