I used a Bear Creek side charging upper for my 24" bull barrel 223 build and love it. I don't think I'll ever go back to a standard upper.

I used a Bear Creek side charging upper to attempt a manually operated AR. It is hard to eject with factory grendel loads. Blue locktite works well to keep the handle from coming unscrewed. On a gas operated AR it seems to make little difference than a standard charging upper.Last edited by bj139; 08-08-2017, 03:13 AM.

Is anyone at all making the ambidextrous side charging upper like the old Crosshill Tech or Lars Grizzly without the rear charging handle? I know about Gibbz, Spartan, ASA, etc.. but am looking for the less chunky, ambidextrous style one... Blackwood Arms makes them but are north of $500 ..
