    6.5 grendel ASC mag COAL

Does anyone have any 10 round ASC 6.5 grendel mags? Mine has a blue follower. I was going to measure the inside length of the magazine to see how long the cartridge could be loaded. However, my digital caliper is acting wacky. I just put a new battery in it and it still keeps messing up. Can someone measure the inside of their mag and let me know what you get? more replies the better. also is a dial caliper better than a digital? no batteries....can they get out of whack?

My 10rd CProducts Defense mags all have a raw internal length over 2.300". It ranges from 2.305" to 2.318" on the 10rd mags. I would never load that COL though because of drag, and there isn't a need to. 2.275" is plenty fine for the 123gr A-MAX for me.

            My mags measure as follows:

            AR-Stoner 10 rd: 2.316" - 2.322"
            ACS 17 rd (14 actual capacity): 2.319" - 2.322"
            E-Lander 25's 2.300" - 2.312"

I've been loading my 123 Amax to 2.260" and have never had a feed issue with any of these.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

cool thanks guys. I tried out 5 rounds of 123 SST loaded 2.290 with 28grains 8208 this morning before work while the wind was calm. They fed fine in my ACS mag. I had my chamber worked on to allow me to load mag length. My chamber max COAL using a 123 SST is 2.235 now. Mark advised to back them up off the lands .004-.006 to stay out of pressure danger. So that puts me at about 2.290. Glad they all fed fine. I only shot 4 rounds but got a 1 inch group with one right in the center of the bulls. First round of experimentation looks positive. I will load up some more and see if I can replicate the results I had this morning with 28 grains 8208.

If your max COL is 2.235", and you are looking to be .004-.006 off the lands, that would be 2.229-2.231", not 2.290". 2.290"s is going to jam if your max is 2.235".
