For scope mounting check out this rail for the 527, good solid product from what I have experienced. Have the 25MOA on the Grendel and the 0MOA one on a 223

Thanks for the info Kmon I follow ya on the mag deal. I'm actually considering modifing my CZ mag a slight bit my plan is to mill out an aluminum block that is the same deminsion as the inside of the mag shape as well only I'll make it the length I want and put a slight taper on it so it'll start in. Then heat the very front of the CZ mag in hopes it'll stretch as I press the block mold thru it till it reaches the top. I'm only talking from 2.3 to 2.45 possibly. Hey its an idea this is a custom gun that's all mine it may screw up the mag but they make more. I thought it would be worth a try. I'm hoping to push the 130gr JLKs fast enough to reach 1000yrds supersonic. Do you guys know the velocity needed to keep a 123gr Amax supersonic just beyond 1000 and the SMK as well I imagine there both the same or very close.

Your shooting elevation will have a lot to do with the max range a bullet will be supersonic at a given velocity. LRRPF52 shooting at 6000+ feet elevation in Utah will be supersonic quite a bit further than I will at 600 and 1400 ft on the ranges I shoot on, and ROE that shoots at about sea level it will be shorter yet. Try one of the online ballistic calculators like JBM or even the one on the Hornady web site in the advanced options, both are pretty good for retained velocity and trajectory. There are many others out there and apps for your phone (one from Litz is real nice).
For how altitude affects velocity me shooting the load I listed above for the 130gr hybrid at 2500fps it is supersonic at 1100 yards at 600ft elevation and at 6000ft it is still supersonic at 1350 yards.
Your ides on the Magazine might work, being it is single stack stretching it out in the middle might work. Now you have me thinking.

Bolt Grendel On a 527 action What offers more that will fit the 527 Action?

Enlighten me please. What ya thinking would do better with the 6ppc bolt face & fit a mini action other than a Grendel or a Grendel slightly modified? 6.5 Ackly ppc Max?

If I want or need more I would SIMPLY jump to a 6.5 creedmore.Last edited by rabiddawg; 02-27-2016, 03:52 AM.Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.

Good to know on the 123gr pills them staying supersonic out to a 1000 at 2550fps I believe I can achieve that no problem. And that is all I'm striving for truthfully is just a good load that will stay together to the 1000 yard line. I'm hoping it can push the 130s to there as well because I really like the JLKs they are great bullets but I'll always have the 123s. My altitude could vary some anywhere from 600 up to 1000 but I'm sure that's not enough different I wouldn't think it would have to much effect from one to the other. I appreciate all the Input guys. Have any of you guys had many dealings with CFE 223 in your grendels many claim it's the go to powder for the highest velocities.

I was just shooting my 31.2gr CFE/123gr AMAX load from 200-1000yds this weekend at my DM Course.
It's boringly accurate and effective from a 17.6" Lilja 1/8 barrel for me, but I was at 6600 ft elevation at 50-58 F. Wind was changing a lot, but I was still hitting a small silhouette at 1000yds like it was cool. First hit on it was a center forehead shot.
I shot a group on the large 1000yd gong so small, I can't even believe it when reviewing the photos. I rapid-fired 6 or 7 rounds at the gong, without being able to see my impacts, just heard them. I popped off the first, heard a register, then another...same thing, let 4 or 5 more fly as fast as I could get a solid reticle into my wind hold and break the trigger..."Ding ding ding ding ding"
I figured it wasn't much to be impressed with because the gong is the size of a barnyard door. When we policed up, I made the range cold and drove down to the targets...
The 12 o'clock group is from a buddy's SR25 shooting 178gr AMAX. Mine is 2 o'clock.
I then moved to a small white silhouette. 1st round went just off the shoulder, next one connected dead center of the forehead. I took off .2 Mils and let another 6 or so fly.

Thanks LRRPF52 that's some great shooting no doubt. Good to hear the CFE 223 is that accurate I've had great luck with it myself out of my 308. I'm planning on just going straight with it in my grendel it seems like it's the perfect powder for stretching these out. Thanks again and keep up the good groups.

Controlled round CZ must be cycled through the mag/NOT even close to UN-EQUIVICLY SO

The Zastava uses a mag more like the 98 Mauser so it can be modified more for a little longer cartridges like Von Gruff stated. Or at least that is what I observed when comparing the 2 before I choose the CZ for my build.
CZ offers a single shot follower that works very well for the 17 fireball and 22 hornet. They also offer a single shot follower for the 7.62 x 39 that I venture a educated guess may work very well.
