Howa Youth lightweight #1 with American Gunner Barrel Heating

I shot my 6.5 Grendel Howa Youth model with lightweight barrel #1 profile with American Gunner ammo.
I installed a SWFA SS 16X scope and used a Lead Sled for best results.
I first shot at the 50 yd range and then moved to the 100 yards range.
I did notice POI shift as the barrel heated. The groups are numbered in the order they were shot.
The barrel was hot enough after 15 shots that I could not hold my hand on it for more than 0.5 seconds.
I shot 20 shots at each range. It looks to be a little over 1 MOA with the American Gunner. It should be better with handloads.
It is fine for a lightweight hunting rifle where one shot is all you need.

I still say the Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel with a youth sized stock should be about as good as it gets for a youth hunting rifle. Especially if they chose a good recoil pad to be on it for the recoil sensitive

I actually wanted the youth model for the 1 inch less stock LOP.
When hunting in the winter, the extra inch is taken up by a heavy coat.

As much as Boyds get heat for their stocks needing fitting, they are a really short LOP, especially the AT-One fully collapsed (fully extended I still can not get a comfortable cheek weld on the riser) - if you wanted a stiffer stock.

        Catchy sig line here.
