I like it! I have been looking for something similar for a truck gun. I love the use of AR magazines. Personally, I like lower scope mounts and a smaller scope. I would also have the barrel shortened a bit. All the same, I like it!
For the ruger American predator rifles they seem to be one # barrel contour heavier than the standard ruger american, but with the same stock. It fills in the gaps between the stock and barrel and doesn't pass the dollar bill free float test. However, the 6.5 C is a youtube 1k yard shooter in the same product line.
If the accuracy is decent this is quite the value. I work in a gun store and think the ruger american stocks are quite rigid. Not as rigid as the tika lite, but reasonably more rigid than than are described online. I have not tried one on a bipod.
I have yet to see a Ruger American Predator in any caliber that didn't drive tacks with the right shooter behind it. Amazing deal of a rifle. I have shot three different ones that were crazy accurate.
I recently got another Ruger American, this one in 6.5 Grendel Predator version. I have 2 other 6.5 Grendels AR's ( 18 inch Satern bbl. 20 inch Skeleton Tactical)
After reading all the posts and complaints about the R A Predator's Stock ( especially "weak forend) I was prepared to modify by "stiffening" with resin embedded steel rods. Don't Need It !!! The inside channel on this new stock's forend has a much denser "grid" in the molding process. No Flex even on heavy push on Bipod. Perhaps Ruger got the message... My older Americans have way less crosshatching in the channel. This rifle is not at all "fussy" on loads. I only shoot my own reloads and I used the ones set up for my A R s. (May as well same general magazine limitations.) It shoots all my loads from 107 gr.STMK to 123 Hornady sst and eld; to 129 gr.s ..I have no use for heavier bullets / tried Hornady 140 eld too slow .. I now know that this rifle with the 1 1/2lb Timney and 24x vortex if it goes outside .5MOA it's me..!!
I've worked up handloads for two separate RAR Grendels, and both were sub-moa with very little load development, and both shot very well with factory ammo.
