Be nice but I really don't see it happening.

If they do they will probably put some idiotic design feature in it too make it complicated too upgrade it somehow. Hehehe like a stupid ar15 mag hehehehe.

Fingers crossed it leads to Grendel options.
Understood, standing by for intel. If they do a grendel with a flush fit mag and 2.400 to 2.450 internal mag space. I would be all over that.

And if it shot as good as my howa grendel I would sale my howa in a heart beat.

Sell the valky-barrel and put a grendel one on it. Standard Savage short action, small shank barrel.

I know grendel has been said too feed from 6.8 at mags, so my thinking it should feed correctly from a 224 valk mag.

Would the bolt face work as is? What's the bolt face difference between valk and grendel?

Isn't the Grendel bolt based/sized on the PPC bolt and the Valkarie based on the 6.8SPC bolt? Sizes between the two differ. Looking at the PTG website under Savage bolt heads, the PPC bolt is .450" and the 6.8 is .420".

Correct - the 68spc and the 65grendel bolt faces are incompatible.

The mag really is the key. The bolt face and barrel are easy to change. Savage mags already use a center feed design that the Grendel seems to like and it has metal feed lips. So we should be able to bend them if needed. The one thing that I could see getting screwed up would be the internal mag space. For years they have been blocking the back of the mags for using long(er) actions with shorter rounds. (308 in a long action or 223 in a short action). I have a Savage model 12 in 22-250 coming next week. I'll play with that a bit and maybe even buy a blocked 7.62x39 or 223 mag for testing. Hopefully the block isn't too big.

Makes for a nice switch barrel rifle for the 6.8 and 224Val! Can’t find any 6.8s in a bolt gun and if you do they want a high premium.
