Fingers crossed it leads to Grendel options.
And if it shot as good as my howa grendel I would sale my howa in a heart beat.

Would the bolt face work as is? What's the bolt face difference between valk and grendel?

The mag really is the key. The bolt face and barrel are easy to change. Savage mags already use a center feed design that the Grendel seems to like and it has metal feed lips. So we should be able to bend them if needed. The one thing that I could see getting screwed up would be the internal mag space. For years they have been blocking the back of the mags for using long(er) actions with shorter rounds. (308 in a long action or 223 in a short action). I have a Savage model 12 in 22-250 coming next week. I'll play with that a bit and maybe even buy a blocked 7.62x39 or 223 mag for testing. Hopefully the block isn't too big.Engineer, FFL and Pastor
