Troubles again...

Well I resisted the DIP mag release for the troubles installing the first one.

Yea yea I know slave pin. But its still a royal PIA!!

Anyhow, I ordered it.... Attempting install tonight and I have ten thousand allen wrenches. Do you think I have one. Just one that fits the lock screw for the dip bottom
Metal?? NOPE. NOT ONE.

Then three pairs of cheaters later... I see the screw is rusted... I find a pic and some oil & clean it out. Now I kinda see the size needed. Smallest I have is like a telephine pole compaired to the hairs width one needed...

Anyone know the size??

I was able to tap the pin out... still would like to know allen size..

But I got the mag release in EZ Peazy!

I cut a new slave pin from a correctly sized allen and radiused the tip.



After checking orientation, I installed the slave pin:



Pushed the release in place, aligning the holes & pushing slave out tapered end first

I can't get to my shop right now but I will post what size it is when I get back to the house tommorw.

It was the smallest size in a mm labeled set I have.

The set screw, is that what you're asking? 0.035" is what size that one is.

My bottom metal came with the mico allen wrench for the offending set screw. I have two, they are in a box (one of 8), in the garage. Moving sucks.

Maybe contact DIP and ask for a wrench?

If you're ok with Amazon, they have a 5 wrench set from 0.028 - 5/64 that is pretty inexpensive and will get to you pretty quickly.
