I think the magpul hunter and maybe the oryx chassis is the only 2 options.

at least 3 as of now, or soon.
Boyd's, MDT (the lss-xl I believe), oryx (says march 22).
I have an MDT on my RAP 243, works well, fore end feels a bit short but still ok, so the xl may be better.
some of them may not take the 223/mags rather the rotary, so check out details before plunking down the $$.

That is my issue, not knowing if the ar mags will work or not. Or what mags will work.

you can call or email the mdt/oryx guys... they've always responded to my questions...
but I was asking on the howa chassis not the RAP.
My 243 RAP takes the AI poly mags, but than again it's a 308-based cartridge.
If the mdt or oryx does the same there's a mod I think you can do so that grendel's work in the AI mags...
but yeah, the "which mags" question is a big one for me, too.

Magpul has the “Hunter” model that requires AI metal mags and the Primal Rights mag conversion kit with the 6.5 Grendel. I have one, and so far, in general I like the stock but, getting the Grendel rounds to feed reliably has been a challenge. Still a work in progress. Frankly, I had more success, less feeding issues with the factory stock and AR mags. OTOT, the Magpul stock is also much heavier than the factory stock.

Horses for courses! I’m tempted to put the action back in the factory stock and just move on. And if didn’t like the Magpul stock as much as I do, I would have already done that.

So, looking at options for this stock would I choose short action AR vs just short action?

                $378 for that stock.

                  Yes, SA AR.

Where do you see it for $378?

They give me 10% for military. which makes it $450 for me

It's in canadian dollars off the above link. I just did the conversion and came up with $378. Maybe that is not actually correct?

Interesting, now that I put in my zip code and did a search for dealers the CA is gone and the stock is listed in US dollars.
