    DIP Bottom metal

    OK Guys,

Who wants to install my mag release in my DIP bottom metal?
I will gladly pay for shipping both ways and your time.

I have wasted an hour trying to get it and all I have accomplished is getting ticked off and shooting the spring across the room several time.

Feel free to post here or PM me.

    Thanks.

By the way, a Q-tip makes for the perfect slave pin.

I found the Q-tip worked better than a toothpick.

I used a Allen key and then drove the pin in with a roll punch and ball peen hammer driving the Allen key out with the keeper pin.

It was still kind of pain in the rear but worked. I have Hokies bottom metal not the DIP maybe that's why it wasn't as bad.

That's what I finally ended up using as well. I dorked around with a toothpick for an hour before getting the idea.

I can't remember who suggested it (F.G. maybe?), but get a 2 gal. ziplock bag and do your assembly inside of that. it will greatly reduce the size and scope of spring and small part searches. I wish I had thought of that about a hundred small parts ago....

Yup, did mine with a q tip as a slave pin last night. Easy Peasy!

                    Thanks for the Q-tip suggestion.
                    Worked like a charm.
                    Thanks all.
