Is there anyway be that is making flush bottom metal for the mini yet? I can?t stand the extended mag I am waiting for a flush mag or better yet, a standard box mag and drop plate.

Use your Google fuu. There is a mag mod to make it flush fit and DIP sales a real metal bottom metal plus a really nice aftermarket mag release to go with it and metal mag bottom plates.
As far as a true flush fit bottom metal and mag set up. No company has brought one to market yet.
I was kind of hoping DIP would have figured something out by now. -
I have looked and I could not find anything. I have seen the DIP option but to me it would be no better than the OEM. I have thought about doing the mag mod but that only slightly improves the issue.
I wish Howa would just make the bottom metal just like the 1500 and make it available as a separate part. I am sure that there are others like me. I would have no issue buying it and installing it myself even if inletting was required.Comment

I have future plans for converting a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock for my Howa to a single shot configuration. Will plug the mag well and and machine new bottom metal smooth and flat, no mag well at all. Will also machine a single shot sled at the same time, that should be real easy with the Howa. But then, I like single shots for target shooting. Will keep my current Boyd's Classic and DIP bottom metal with mag as an alternate should I ever decide to take it hunting. If I was a better machinist, it might be possible to do a blind mag, maybe I'll play with that idea when I finally get around to my project. But other than DIP, I think you'll be on your own in the DIY world. Later.Comment
