MDT tends to use the mag that the original gun comes with. The magwell is all part of the one-piece aluminum chassis, so for the 6.5 Grendel/howa, the howa mag fits in there just like it would for the original howa (plastic) stock.
For a 6.5 grendel/ruger american style, you have to order the Ruger 223/556 chassis and an AICS-style 223 mag (although when I called and talked to them, they were not sure it would work for the Grendel).
For 308-based cartridges, including the "cousin" 6.5 Creedmoor, the chassis has an AICS style magwell cut to it so the AICS mags will fit.
That's how they do their chassis's. I have several so speak from experience. I haven't seen any of them for a CZ however.
"Down the floor, out the door, Go Brandon Go!!!!!"
I had an answer by MDT that do gives any possibility to fit in their chassis the action, BUT I had also an answer by outdoor-europe, they sells CZ spare parts, and as CZ website, they DO NOT ask any info about the caliber when you order a 527 spare stock because, they said, the action should fit without any work on the stock. The caliber does not matter.
Malicious question: have MTD technicians tryed to put a CZ 527 6.5 Grendel on the 527 .223 chassis?
