My 6.5 Grendel build is drawing to an end. A spatter of light dots and a "shark belly" will finish off the ceracoate paintjob.
The parts so far:
Sako 6 PPC action (name S491 ???) with oversized bolt knob due hand injuries.
Lilja SS barrel of gunsmith's choice. About 18"", thin and fluted. Chamber details picked up from this forum!
A-tec Carbon02 silencer
Hi-Tech specialities syntethic stock
Versapod style bipod spigot and picatinny piece for other makes.
Sidemounted flush sling studs (WWII style for a close hug when skiing with rifle across chest)
Custom machined picatinny rail to fit bases.
Ceracoated for ease of maintenance.
Cheekrest fitted to scope. Old Zeiss 8x56 hunting scope as this is a nostalgic trip for me - as a kid I had one of these scopes on a Sako Vixen. This build is essentially a time-travel back to my younger years and the rifle is now built like I could never have afforded to do at age 18.
Bullet will be 123gr Amax.
Powder will be CFE223.
Will hopefully try it this year on these deer
