6.5-06 would go with 26 inch barrel or 24 at the shortest. Loaded for a cool to me round several years back 6.5X57 and the AI version. The AI pretty much equaled the 6.5 Rem Mag, 6.5-284 and 6.5-06.

What about 6-06? I have one and really like it no kick and speed like a 240 wetherby. Mine is 1-10 twist Krieger 26" heavy bull sporter barrel. Not real heavy shoots 85grain Sierra one hole 3 shots. If you go with 22" barrel you will loose some velocity.Comment
