    Gas block for AA barrel

I'm considering buying a 16" AA barrel but want to use a non AA gas block.
Any reason this will cause problems?
    Thanks

Not as long as you order the right size. I have the 16" with a syrac adjustable gas block

Got a 16" lite Grendel on order from AA. I picked up a Seekins .750 set screw type from Brownells. $59.00.

So basically as long as it's.75" I.D. It will work?

AAs is $94 and longer than "normal", that's why I'm looking for a different gas block.
        I'll probably go adjustable.

That would be correct, as long as that is the barrels measurement at the gas block location. Set screw or clamp-on are the choices. Some barrels have a milled spot on the bottom of the barrel for the set screw type. Some have dimples. Some barrels do not have any landings, so some use the clamp-on for those types of barrels.

I called AA and asked, the barrel has no landing or dimples. I have heard that the set screw type may cause harmonic distortion or a dead spot in the barrel harmonics, so the clamp-on is preferred. I'm going to just use the set screw and not worry about it.

Thank you all for your help. I had called Alexander Arms but the product info/tech support guys had gone home.

What kind of groups are you getting with that barrel and with what ammo?

Hey mat, I also have the AA 16". I put a SLR adjustable on mine. http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?r...product_id=123.

With Hornady factory SST's, I have been able to get sub MOA 5 shot groups at 100 yds.

I also went with a AA 16" Fluted for my first 6.5 with an Odin Works Tunable Gas Block... https://www.odinworks.com/Tunable_Ga...gb-tune-ss.htm
