I never did get a chance to shoot these. I took my Savage 10 to the range a few times to assure myself that I still know how to shoot, haha. In addition to the 107 SMKs and the 123 ELDs, I've also loaded up some 120 SMKs over 8208 and some more ELDs over CFE223. Got high hopes for seeing some tighter groups. This weekend looks nice so I guess we'll see how I do. Fingers crossed, lol.

Finally something this BA barrel likes. No surprise it's 123 ELD-Ms over 28.2g of 8208. The groups weren't all as good as this one but this is very encouraging. The brass looked good so maybe I'll go a little further and see if the groups tighten up any more. If not, I'll fall back to this and play with seating depth. Gonna give the 120 SMKs a go next weekend too. I'm glad this thing seems to be coming around. If this load didn't work I was about to go barrel shopping.

I ran into pressure spiking quickly at 28.5gr. with the 8208 and the 123's I had to back down to 28.0 and 28.2. Personally I consider 28.2 as a max load in my 20" BA. I would approach any load above 28.2 cautiously. The velocity difference (about 15fps) is not worth working the brass that hard. My .02

You guys may want to try out AR Comp in the 27.5-28.0 range... I have several loads at just a tad over 28, that shoot well, for both 123 eldm and sst. Plus it still has some temp stability. I didn't run into the large pressure spike you can see w/ 8098, but note 28.0 is I believe listed max... just a suggestion.
In my 16", 2440 (my other 16 is 2410); in the 20" inchers, 2500-2510 ish, all on a node for the barrel.

I have to revisit ARComp it did well with the Nosler 120BT's about .8 MOA. Ran out of Comp and Nosler BT's. 28.0gr 8208 gives me 2499 with the Sierra 120's. 28.2gr with 123SST is 2525fps and groups about an inch. Playing with Gold Dots at present.

When I get that type of groupings, I try adjusting the coal by 0.0010 up or down a couple notches, sometimes one of the tweaks will tighten it up. Not that 0.8-1.0 is that bad for an AR...

I was going to go to 28.4 and see what the groups and the brass look like. I'm not worried about velocity, just accuracy (as long as it's no a total slug, haha). If I don't see improvement I'll keep it to 28.2

After settling on a charge weight for 8208 and looking at seating depth, Comp is next on the agenda unless the CFE loads I made up show real potential.

Got my bag rider done. I drilled a block of 5/8" HDPE for M-LOK T Nuts and longer screws and it mounts really solid. Now instead of a round hand guard I have a flat 3" wide surface. It's not quite as bulky as it looks. The combination of the new rest and a bench rest style rear bag is very stable and slides fore and aft perfectly Can't wait to give it a try.

27.6 to 28.0 grains of AR Comp under 120 SMKs shot decent yesterday. Under .75 moa, which is what I've been looking for. So now that the bugs seemed to be worked out with this rifle and I have a few loads that are showing real promise, this will be my last post in this thread unless someone has a question about something they've read here. Thanks to everyone for the tips and advice that finally got me to this point.
