Please help me complete my first build

I am building my first 6.5 Grendel and intend to be shooting some Hornady 123gr SST. I have or bought all the essential parts which I list below/
I’d welcome your input on certain items below. Thanks in advance.
All opinions and comments are welcome

    Upper:
    • Noreen billet upper (no forward assist)
    • Barrel: 20” Lilja 6.5-8 Grendel AR740 (wasp weight reduction)
    • Bolt: matching Maxam bolt
    Lower:
    • Noreen billet lower
    • Lower Parts Kit: ALG (less trigger & grip)
    • Trigger set: LaRue MBT-2S or Geissele SSA
    Stocks:
    • Butt stock: Magpul PRS Gen 3
    • Handguard:Fortis 14” M-Lok Switch handguard

    What would you recommend for?
    • Buffer Assembly (Std Ar15?)
    • Gas block – clamp-on (thinking of the o.750” SS clamp-on – HG inner diameter is about 1.3”) – if adjustable is needed.
    • Scope and base – my world ends at 300yds basically ?

Buffer should match the length the barrel port is set up for. I went for the clamp on. If you are going to use a suppressor you need an adjustable gas block. As for scope I like my Athlon on a one piece base. Brownells is your friend both for assembly videos and diagrams. Harbour Freight for a torque wrench. Brownells and others have the tools you need. Choose wisely on the method you use to clamp the lower and upper in your vise. IF your barrel doesn't fit easily into the receiver heat the receiver with a hair dryer. If it still doesn't fit easily freeze the barrel and heat the receiver slips right in. Good Luck. Any questions you have ask them there is somebody on here that knows the answer

It's going to be tight finding a clamping gas block that will not touch a 1.3" ID handguard. You might have to go a set-screw.

What brands of block and handguard do you have in mind?

The Odin 0.750 adjustable clamp on fits under an ALG handguard which are about as slim as they get and measures a little over 1.3" ID
        Let's go Brandon!

Thank you all for you input.
I will not use a silencer so maybe I can bypass an adjustable one - the barrel is 20" and doesn't need on in theory per manufacturer but I have no experience with the 6,5 Grendel round.
For the gas block - I have not yet found an adjustable .750 clamp-on. My Fortis Switch hand guard has an ID of 1.34".

Slr and superlative arms have .750 adjustable clamp on gas blocked.

I have an SLR adj clamp on .750 under a Fortis hand guard, it fits fine.

Do you intend to brake your build? There are a ton of muzzle brakes available and any of them will work.
                to procrastinate... tomorrow!!

At this juncture I don't know what to put on then of the barrel.
How is the flash/burst out of a 20" barrel?

Yeah, had to go with the set screw Superlative Arms to clear a KMR...

The flash is nothing out of the end of a 20" Grendel. Use a thread protector if you wish.
