    White oak vs Faxon

I know that this is a 6.5 Grendel forum, but looking at my next build a 223 Wylde hunting upper. The Faxon barrel is lighter, niteride coated, but $25 more than the White oak. The white oak barrel does come with the gas block unlike the Faxon. Which one would y’all recommend? I have heard you cannot beat White Oak Armament for precision. Thank you

I own a WOA 18" SPR. I chose it almost entirely on WOA's reputation. I've probably only put a couple hundred rounds through it (it's not a Grendel don't cha know) but I've been satisfied so far. It shoots five rounds of IMI 77 grain Razor under an inch consistently. Not bad considering Midway often has specials on this ammo at $.50 a round.

I highly recommend WOA. Customer service is outstanding and so is their reputation. Just walk the line at any High Power Match and see how many guys are shooting a WOA barrel. It's impossible to know how many matches and championships have been won with WOA barrels. I have 6 WOA barrels and they all shoot sub MOA with many different bullets. I just bought a Shillen 4R service rifle barrel with the competition extension during their Memorial day sale and I'm very happy with it.

What barrel/contour are you looking at? I have a WOA 26" varmint barrel Wilson blank that came with gas block and tube. It's an outstanding value, I use it for High Power Match Rifle and throw a scope on it for shooting squirrels in the spring.

I was looking at the predator barrel in 20” just due to weight savings
