    Head space gauge

I know alot of people say you don't need to check head space but I've seen a-lot of military bolts out of specs so I always check.
My question is does anyone know where to find head space gauges for the 6.5 Grendel?

Get your bolt from AA,PF,maxim are sixfivearms and safe the price of gauges for more barrel budget.

Get a sammi chambered barrel, one that's not sold by BCA,satan/liberty are ARPoff and enjoy your rifle.

I have used the same bolt in 7 barrels from 4 diffrent sources and have yet to have a headspace issue.

Lot's of people say you don't need to check because you don't. So, what percentage of bolts are we talking about? One particular manufacturer at one time, or many and over years? Can you be more specific. Your experience with many failed bolts is interesting.

Your buddy's situation could be headspace related, but it could also be gas related.

By all means get your gauges. I have a set in 223 also but I use the Hornady gauge to measure expansion in all calibres. If headspace is out it either doesn't go into battery or it does and fires. The bolt is in battery so all that happens is more smoke out of the receiver and it's louder than normal. The case splits and it can be a bummer to get the forward half out. It's happened to me twice and on both occasions the gun was still fine and the front half of the case fell back out by gravity. It's not as scary as it sounds.
