I have a PSA 8.5" 300BLK pistol I hardly use anymore, supersonic ammo was getting both scarce and pricey, think it's nearly worthless (in terms of power) shooting subs and I'm not a ninja. Plus I'm not stacked in .300 ammo at all, less than 100 rounds of V-Max supers left. Just didn't like it that much, was a bandwagon purchase a couple years ago, and I sold the can that I bought for it a year ago. So I decided to convert it to a 6.5 Grendel Pistol. Keep most of the portability, have more ass at range, and could find and afford to stack deep in both steel and good brass ammo in this weird time.
Did some research, and decided my best bet was just to get a complete upper for a first go-around. So I ordered a 12" stainless barrel complete upper from PSA back in early June, and it (as usual for PSA uppers) took forever to ship. So while waiting, did some more research, felt more confident in being able to pick the right parts, and I scored a 12" 2017 Group Buy Faxon/Monster barrel from the classifieds here, and from parts I had on hand and smattering of new stuff a new build was born.
12" Faxon Monster Barrel (2017 Group Buy, never fired, thanks @PVBoom !)
Wojtek .750 AGB and carbine tube
STNGR VLKN 10.5" handguard
VG6 Gamma 6.5 brake
Brownells Anchor Harvey Upper
Brownells BCG and 6.5 bolt
Aero UPK
Generic Lower with CMMG LPK
Phase 5 EBRV3
Phase 5 OMR
SI dust cover, takedown pins
Law Tactical Gen-3 M folder
Aero Buffer tube and H1 buffer
SBA 3 in Stealth Gray
BCM 4B charging handle
BCM pistol grip in Wolf Gray
BCM trigger guard in Wolf Gray
BCM KAG
LaRue MBT 2S trigger
Slate Black Mlok covers
Upper, lower and handguard painted in Wolf Gray Alumahyde.
12x ELander/AA 24rd mags
4x Amend2 10rd mags
Lapped the upper, shimmed the barrel.
Currently have a Vortex Gen 2 Strike Eagle 1-8 on a Brownells/Warne mount (setup doesn't suck for the price), but it's being replaced with a Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10 and Aero SPR mount that are in transit.

And of course, before I had the DIY finished, the PSA upper came in, so I slapped it on the old PSA .300 lower and took it out last weekend and ran 100 123gr Hornady ELD-M and a full 500 of Wolf 100gr through it without a hitch, using a 3x Primary Arms ACSS prism scope out to 200yds. With my skills and the scope, no bags, no rest, just elbows on a table, was getting about 1 MOA with the ELD-M, and about 2 MOA with the Wolf. For a short range/HD/Florida hog gun, that's more than good enough.

Probably going to sell the PSA upper if the DIY shoots well (going out this weekend to test and zero it), simply don't need two 6.5G pistols.
But I think I do need a 16"-18" Grendel.
Somebody talk me out of picking up a LaRue UU.
