Not a Grendel but 3rd build starting!

Hey guys starting my 3rd build now. First was a lightweight 5.56 for my wife, second was a 24" barreled 6.5 Grendel (still need muzzle device and optics), now I want a 7.62x39 setup so I can throw a lot of cheap steel case lead at the range and not feel it in the wallet. I have a 300 Blk and that's too expensive to shoot hundreds of rounds in a day.

    Parts acquired

    Midwest Industries billet upper
    Valley Ordnance Works billet lower
    YHM fluted 16" 7.62 barrel
    Liberty Gun Works 7.62 bolt
    Adams Arms piston kit
    BMC mod 3 charging handle

    Parts needed

    Trigger
    Handguard
    Muzzle device

Will you be getting a .311" bore barrel for it, since COMBLOC and Eastern ammo is .311" diameter?

Check your receiver face for being square. The MI Billet should be square, but check anyway.

The ASC 30rd mags might need AK springs installed in them.

A good feed ramp blend and polish often equates to a reliable 7.62x39 AR.

    Looking forward to your results.

NICE dude! I have a lot of fun with my 7.62x39 AR:

      I'm seriously thinking about doing a 7.62x39 with a 20" barrel

Yea I talked with Russell Cason at Liberty Gun works on what needs to be done to get the 7.62 to run reliably. Cant wait to get it up and running.

If you like YHM you might be interested in my handguard.

SOLD SOLD SOLD For Sale: YHM 12.5" Customizable Handguard. $125 shipped. I bought it new, put it on my Grendel but it added more weight than I want. Almost like new, one small ding(pictured) and some witness marks on the jam nut from installing and uninstalling(pictured). http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=product_info
