    Film: Hunting deer with Grendel

A 5 minute summary of a weeks worth of hunting, not much happening.
Worst season I've had in 20 years.

Sorry to see you had such bad weather. However, the video was amazingly beautiful, one of your best yet. And that dog was awesome.

superb footage. As dad always says, there's the agony of defeat, and the thrill of victory. Till next time! Thanks for sharing.

Oh man! Well, did the dog at least have a good time?

Yes Sir, a bad day hunting is better than a good day working. But, that's why we call it hunting, not killing.... Great Video, loved your companion...

Thank you for sharing this hunt with us Roe! Is your dog a German Wirehaired Pointer or a Griffon?

We both had a good time. The alternative is the office, so just being in the forest beats that - deer/no deer.

Tyr is a german wirehair, now age 10 (?) and the prohunter is currently replacing him with a younger self from the same line. Which is good news for me as he can join me every time.

He is really hard on the deer. A few years ago he lost his front tooth fighting a big sika stag. The owner was a little worried he'd get a scare from that, but it just made him even harder on the deer. Unchecked, he will not stop until the windpipe is out.
