19 Hogs Down - More Speer TNT

Dave and I hunted up in Montague County, Texas, working the 9-5 graveyard shift. We shot a lot of hogs, but were met with several challenges including having cattle overrun the hogs and nearly overrun us, horses that came from the far side of the field and interrupt our hunt, getting busted once (still got 3), and dealing with the challenges of a sounder spread out over a large area and huge differences in distances between targets. It was a heck of a good time!

The Superlative Arms piston system seems to work just fine. I am very pleased with it. The part I like best is that with using a suppressor, the ammo in the magazine doesn't get as dirty as it did when I use a DI system. The BCG stays cleaner and I don't get carbon build-up on it. I also get less gas to the face using the piston system.

I am up to 194 recovered hogs, including sole kills and joint kills. For example, if HuntTXHogs and I both shoot the same hog, I helped kill it so I count it.

I would do my kill count the same way.

That's a heck of count so far for this year, keeps us updated on the yearly count please sir.

I know some professional trappers who don't catch have that number in a year here in the part of Louisiana where I live.

You guys got it going on. I'd been thinking about the next build being a piston, as being a lefty and shooting suppressed the ammo is plenty dirty and get plenty of blowback.

The ammo will still get dirty, just not as dirty. Blowback will be greatly reduced.
