    ABLR and the young buck

Bloodied my new Grendel this weekend and put some meat in the freezer. Sitting on a power line right of way where I could see 800 yds. A food plot from 100 to 200 yds. This young guy was the fifth deer I saw, the third buck. I took the shot at 160 yds, double lung hit and he went down but after a few seconds up he came and headed for the thick stuff but he only went 20 yds and piled up.

That was Friday afternoon 4pm. Because of the land and group I was hunting with, seven hunter in seven different stands and not wanting to interrupt anyone else's hunt I sat until dark before bring him in.

What show mother nature put on. Like I said this guy was the third buck I saw. By the time the sun went down I saw seven more bucks. And every time another buck came out he was bigger than the last one. One huge 10 pointer, several 8's, three of which were definite wall hangers. Total I saw 10 bucks and twelve does. What a great night.

I’m so jealous. Going to try to hunt WI next year.

Major congrats. Wish I could have been there to see what you saw.

I need to see if I'm up for hunting this season. My achilles tendon is healed up, but leg isn't back to full strength.

Thanks guys, been eating chops, ho-made hash browns and eggs over easy for breakfast all week. Nothing finer.
