Today is the opening day of firearms deer season in Kansas. Curious as to how other hunters here did. I did not see anything.

My son took this youngun tonight at about 40 yards, hit it in the neck with a factory Hornady 123 SST, deer jumped then trotted about 10 yards and dropped.

My life is complicated at the moment. Firearms season may be a tall order. We shall see what happens, but I can tell you, things don't look good for my woods time this year.

I filled my doe tag tonight, this one is special. I built the rifle myself and I hand loaded the shell that took it, And to top it off the bullet was a Barnes brand bullet.
