AA 16 inch and federal fusion get it done

Well slipped into the blind mid morning, rain pooring, put out a fresh bag of corn.

Rain stayed coming down till bout 2 then stopped, 5 mints later the twin too the last nub buck I shot steps out to get him a bite.

Distance 60 yards +- 5 yards, quarting away
Weight 60 pounds soaking wet
Round 120 federal fusion
Barrel 16 inch AA light
Sight at3 red dot

Shot entered just behind front right shoulder, passing throw and taking out both lungs and exited just up from base of neck and body.

Entrance wound bout bullet size, Exit would close too 3/4 inch, didn't find any bullet fragments at all.

Distance traveled 15 yards.

In my 16" Odin Works the Federal Fusion ammo is going about 2440 fps average. Actually warmer tha. Hornadys CURRENT factory offerings (God do I miss the old AMAX match ammo).

Nice clean looking wound channel as well.

I'm excited to shoot something with the 120gr Gold dot as well. Those things have very sexy expansion.

Wish I had chrongraphed these rounds, safe bet is it hit going around 2450 to 2475 fps.

Was going too use some of my 127 LRX handloads but had a box of these leavt and said why not. Loaded 9 127 LRX and 1 120 fusion.

Very happy with the results, I like bullets to hold together even on bone that's why I typically shoot copper rounds like the ttsx and lrx.

Didn't hit leg or shoulder on this deer but very happy with terminal effects and best I can tell the bullet didn't lose any of its weight. If it did it was so very small I couldn't find it in the wound track.

Was pleasantly surprised, bullet held together great, expanded great, didn't take the high shoulder shot like I typically would but after seeing this I would have no problems doing so.

I sure got more meat off this one since the bullet didn't explode like it did when I shoot his twin brother bout a week earlier with a 100 grain nbt.

Will have it deboned tommorw and we will be doing up some burger meat mixed with bacon with him.

Venison in the smoker has become a new favorite of mine.

Rub of your choice, 225 degrees until you hit 140 degree internal temp with hickory chips... man o man it's to die for.

I haven't really found anything this barrel won't shot good to very well. Even the wolf steel case is a constant 1.5 are smaller at 100 and can hit a 6 inch swinger at 200 at will.
