Monday night I was in a stand overlooking the Colorado River, hoping to see a mature whitetail. I had about 5 deer approx. 120 yards across the river when I see this big boar coming down a trail. The deer saw him and bolted but he slowed and stood facing my direction, not coming into the open area I was hoping he would. Light was fading, and he turned just very slightly quartering to me at 140 yards. I touched off a 123 SST which entered the neck/shoulder crease. He turned his head inwards and ran sideways squealing. Trying to get to the safe cover of the river he collapsed after 30 yards. Upon recovery there was minimal blood around the entry wound, no exit would, and not a single drop of blood from impact to death. The SST like we all know, is a fine bullet that gets the job done! Boar taped to 240lbs.

That is a solid looking boar! Outstanding that he only made it 30 yards. Well done!Kill a hog. Save the planet.
