My daughter and me with a couple of meat bucks from yesterday. The spike was her first buck, and second Alabama deer, since moving south from AK. It was also the her first hunt alone. Pretty big accomplishment, she couldn't be prouder of her buck and I couldn't be prouder of her.
Of course my buck was taken with a Grendel. Specs are 12" Faxon GB, on Aero receivers, Sig PDW Brace, RRA Varmint trigger, Vortex SE 1-8, shooting a 129 ABLR. Shot was about 60 yards, quartering hard away. Round entered just behind last rib and traveled forward towards the off shoulder. No exit. Buck bounded twice at the shot, then walked about 15-20 feet, stopped and fell over. My first deer with the pistol.
