130gr. Tipped Game Changer (Tipped Game King) ??? any results

    DNS, et. al.,
has anyone tried the Sierra tipped game king (game changer) on hogs or deer yet? if so results? is this Sierra's response to Hornady's ELD-X??

Hornady only offers a 143gr. ELD-X in 6.5mm. LKind of heavy for the 6.5 G. it looks like rather than try and use eld-ms as game bullets (non-consistent performance) that the 130gr TGK might be more in line weight wise with the 6.5 Grendel and may prove to be a more reliable performer on game than re-purposing an eld-m. just curious if anyone has used the 130gr. TGK and what results you had.
    thx,

I've used the tipped game kind for target shooting with excellent results. Haven't been able to try them on game. I plan to use them on whitetails this fall.

Sierra has the minimum speed for expansion still a good bit higher than the ELD-X. I wish it was closer and lower like the accubond lr

I looked hard at the 130 game changer but the min expansion limit is just to high for my likeing.

I went with the 129 ablr instead and I'm super impressed with that bullet.

i'd forgotten about the 129 ABLR. probably what the doc ordered for high bc and lower impact speed expansion.

i've not seen to many 6.5 G hog shooters using either the 100gr. or the 125gr. Nosler Partition. in 30 caliber they've always performed consistently super. and consistent super performance in my 6.5 swede too. but i've not heard of many hog hunters using them.

i suppose if your particular rifle doesn't like them, well, don't use them, but my experience with the nosler partition is pretty good accuracy in the 30 cals and my swede.

if you like lighter weight but faster, the 100gr. partition, or standard weight, the 125gr. partition. the front is pretty soft so you get good expansion even at lower impact velocities. and you get good penetration with the weight retention of the partition.

just surprised i guess more folks aren't using them on hogs. maybe more are like DNS and just trying a wide variety just to see how they work, and that's good necessary research too.

ah well, no hogs here so i will just have to enjoy the report from those of you that do get that opportunity.

HuntTx used 100 grain Partitions in 6.5 Grendel in at least one hog hunting video. The 100 grain 6.5/.264 Partition bullet seemed to be good in his hunt. I think the 100 grain Nosler Partition would be an excellent replacement bullet if pulling the 100 grain FMJ from Wolf steel cased ammo.
