It went no more than 15 yards, might have even been less but no more than 15.

Congrats! I use a havalon original for my pack em out hunts.

Havalons are good too and no sharpening. I like that buck de-boning knife because it will do it all and will even take some prying force like when you are severing joints ect... it is not bad at any thing but not really great at anything, lol. Just plain utility. The older I get the less likely I am to properly sharpen a knife, would be nice to just pop on a new blade.

Excellent. I'll be hunting with my Grendel next week in an area that has elk, and I have a tag for one. I ruminate on what I'd do if one walked out of the river bottom. I know the 120 grain Pro Hunters kill the heck out of deer....~Riuma
