First Grendel deer kill

Took my first deer with the GR last weekend. It was a good sized SC doe. 27.5 gr 8208XBR and 120 Speer gold dot at 240 yards.

I had a complete pass thru and no bullet recovery, but significant damage to the chest cavity and the doe did not take a single step.

I think these may be one of the better bullets on the market for weight retention, based on the research I did.

Hopefully I recover one of those nicely mushroomed bullets this weekend!

Congratulation on the deer. I have shot only one deer with the 120 GD out of my Grendel but it did AWESOMELY. I also wanted to try to capture a bullet so I waited until the deer turned to face me at 111 yards. I shot it high in the chest at a slight downward angle from a shooting house. Looked like the Tasmanian devil had went into it's chest and the bullet exited out the belly with a thumb size hole about 6 inches in front of the crotch. BANG FLOP. I think it is going to be a hard thing to capture one of these bullets.
