Grendel black bear

went bear hunting over the weekend, we got 4 hunters and all of us filled their tags.
2 guys (myself included) were using .260 Remington and 1 guy had a creedmoor and my buddy had a Grendel.
My buddy with the grendel was shooting `123 Blacks and his shot was about 65 yards. perfect broadside hit, full penetration with good expansion. bear ran only about 20-30yds and dropped.mikesbearedit.jpg

Sounds like a very good hunt. Looks like a good sized bear in the pic. Congrats to all the hunters

At Grendel velocities the standard cup and core bullets can behave very well. I have switched to the Nosler LRAB for a lot of my hunting but never had a problem with the Hornady A-Max for deer, hogs or coyotes all died quickly from one shot.
