Took both my daughter (10) an nephew (13) out hunting this weekend, well it was a 4 day weekend. They both had jr cow elk hunt tags. My daughter has shot my grendel AR alot before and can pelt clays at 100 yards constantly. Ammo is hornaday black so nothing crazy. My nephew learned to shoot just 6 months ago on this same grendel AR which is zeroed at 200yds. (100 yd pre hunt verification )

Daughters first shot on opening day was a front shoulder hit at 165yds that made the cow fall and could not get up. The followup was a neck shot at 125 yds that put her down. Cutting it up, the shoulder none was turned to mush. No bullet recovered. The neck showed alot of trauma damage but was a pass thru.

Next day my nephew shot one at 205 yds in the hind quarter that stopped her at 184 yards. The followup shot was in the boiler room that put her down. The hind quarter bone was broken in half and splintered out, no bullet recovered. The boiler room shot made lung soup and no bullet recovered as well.
