Nice hunting. Thanks for the info on the bullet. So far it seems to be doing a fine job for everyone that has posted hunting with it.

                  Awesome buck CONGRATULATIONS!!!

As for the bullet preformance. Little suprise. I have used this bullet for over 10 years in my 6.5 Swede. Its worked very well for me on over a dozen deer at only a lil more velocity. One of the first bullet I used in the Grendel was the 123 sst and mad did that open fast! It didnt make it out and only hot one lung on first deer. I knew I needed better. Speer came out with there 120 Gold Dot. I worked up a load for my Howa and as luck had it a. One heck of a buck stept out infront of me. I was above him on a ridge, I let him pass so I could angle forward and shot him hi on his left and it should have exited low right, on his arm pit.
Well,...I later learned from Speer tech that GOLD Dot was designed specifically for UNDER 2500 fps. Well Impact vel was north of 2625 from my 22" barrel. That bullet never did exit. It took out on side lung again and that deer walked nearly 600 yards till he laid down and expired where I found him. All 262# of him! I switched back to my ol fav Sierra 120g GK. I have since taken only a few more with it but just like you, it enters messes stuff up leaves a respectable exit and deer expire quickly if not right there!

Congratulations on a very nice Buck and some good eatin!

I talked to Sierra about this bullet. They plan to run a new batch of these bullets 1st or 2nd quarter this year.
