It hasn't passed the Senate yet and it hasn't been signed by el presdenta.

So they are still on the f@#$ you, pay me list.

And "NO YOUR NOT GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK"

That said, if by some act of God it does pass and codified into law they are off the NFA. I got a credit card in the freezer I'm going to burn to the ground buying them.

Originally, even as recently as 1-2 days ago, they were only going to drop the $200 tax. But in the bill they actually included dropping them from the NFA entirely.

So, yeah, not getting any money back... but if it makes it all the way into law, katie bar the door!!!

But... what are the odds of the Senate actually passing it. It barely made it through the house. Would have been nice if they also added SBR's to also be removed from the NFA list.

The House didn't and the Senate won't pass "it" per se. This was the HPA rider to the Big Beautiful Bill. It was attached to the original bill as a rider along with several other riders. They voted on the entire package, not the individual HPA rider.

One of the reasons HPA is a rider instead of its own bill is because this is probably the quickest way to get it through successfully.

Earlier text had more including the reduction of taxes on manufacturing.

LOTS of riders on the HR1 bill, I will be curious to see how many are stripped in the Senate. I cannot imagine that it is all going to pass as is without some strife within the Senate as well as between the Senate and House. I wish it had been a rider on something that was a lot less hassle and divisive.

SEC. 112030. REDUCTION OF EXCISE TAX ON FIREARMS SILENCERS.

              (a) In General.--Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows:
``(a) Rate.--There shall be levied, collected, and paid on firearms
transferred a tax at the rate of--
``(1) $5 for each firearm transferred in the case of a
weapon classified as any other weapon under section 5845(e),
``(2) $0 for each firearm transferred in the case of a
silencer (as defined in section 5845(a)(7)), and
``(3) $200 for any other firearm transferred.''.
              (b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by this section shall apply
to transfers after the date of the enactment of this Act.
