    broken mag spring

finially figured out why my SBR grendel was experiencing feeding problems. the AA 10-round magazine spring was broken. I'd like to get a new spring obviously, but AA hasent responded to my email including pictures of their mag and broken spring.

Is there another source for a mag spring for a 10 rounder anybody would care to share?

If not, no big deal, I guess I'll just order a couple more mags. So that being said, whats the best 10 round mags out there these days for the Grendel?

    TIA

Alexander Arms uses ASC magazines but thoroughly inspect each mag before sale.

You can order directly from ASC if you can't find the springs anywhere else.

ASC 6.5 Grendel stainless steel spring kits provide a quick solution to maintaining your hardware. Each spring kit comes with (3) anti-tilt followers, springs, and floor plates.

Interesting my 10rnd isn't feeding well either, haven't had a chance to look into it. Consistently didn't feed the 8th round, was wondering if the follower was catching on the mag release mechanism. Got any pics?

Yeah, I can't recall ever having even seen a broken AR mag spring (and I've seen MANY mags.LOL) until the old C Products springs started breaking. It's weird. ASC ended up with old C Products' stuff, so I guess it isn't a big surprise for it to happen. It's still weird, and doesn't exactly engender confidence when it happens.

Here's a guy on Arf that had 19 out of 20 springs break while loaded in his 40 round C Products mags...

This is my first post, so bare with me. Been shooting, collecting, and loving firearms for 6 years now!So heres the deal, I was supposed to go to the range with some friends a couple months back and l

Hopefully AA or ASC will replace your spring without any hassle.

I had a 10 rnd magazine break its spring recently as well, and I hadn't used the mag but for 5 rounds at a time, and for maybe 500 rounds or so. They (alexander arms) wouldn't sell me a replacement spring, but made me a "deal" on a new mag as a replacement. I kept the old mag and follower in case I ever got the opportunity to find just the spring for it.

            here's a pic

first noticed feeding problems when the gun wouldnt hold bolt back on the last round, and had some short stroking symptoms. I went through the usual checks and was about to pull the gas glock but decided to check the mag and low and behold....99% of the time I loaded only 5 rounds in the mag so I cant imagine it was under much stress from holding the cartridge. interesting...

thanks for the inputs gents.....much appreciated

ETA-just got an email from AA stating they dont sell mag springs I would have to purchase a new magazine. oh well....

can this 10 round 6.5 spring/kit be used with a 20 round 556 magazine as the host? If so, I've got a slew of old Colt 556 20 rounders that could be converted.
