    They're wooden handguards. All that broke was the tabs that go around the back end of the teeth on the barrel nut, which serve to prevent forward movement of the handguards.

      Gotcha.
      I still would've never thought none free float guards could cause that sort of accuracy issues.

        Had an m4 with standard hand guard. When I put a free float hang guard on it. The rifle shot new poi and better groups. Just a little pressure did that.
