    Broke Mag Spring

So, while unloading my 10 rnd steel alexander arms magazine yesterday, the spring broke into 3 pieces. Has anyone had this issue? Are there better alternatives for magazines for this gun?

    Thanks
    Andy

Me too. I had it sitting for a couple months (in a dry climate controlled environment) loaded with 10 rounds, and when I removed them, and tried to take out the bottom piece to clean / lube everything inside the mag, three parts fell out....

C-Products used to sell spring kits for their mags. Contact them and see if they still offer it.

Not sure if it's all that common (never heard about it with the AA Grendel mags) but here's a guy that had the same issue with his 5.56 40 rounders - https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.h...&f=17&t=643090 . If you scroll down there's another guy that appears to have a 30 round mag with the same problem - substandard batch of springs from whatever company that made them.

Might want to call Alexander Arms and see if there's anything they can do or just replace the springs with some quality units and be done with it.

i have had nothing but broken springs in my saiga 12 promag 10 round mags. they have just sent me the latest design for free and its different from the others they have sent. i think that mag springs can break but not if designed correctly and made right. lets hope its not that for those,,,,,i am tired of changing mine in the saiga and i cannot rely on them and thats the worst part.

Well AA didn't offer me a replacement spring, just offered me a "discounted" replacement magazine (for the low low low price of $25)....

I would love to get this old mag back up and running, no reason why I shouldn't be able to get a replacement spring for it.
